Hello APN Colleague. My name is Cheryl Popovich-Golestani. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in New Jersey, currently pursuing my Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Gannon University.

Despite efforts in the legislature to remove the requirement, New Jersey still mandates that Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) must have a Collaborative Practice Agreement (CPA) to practice in the state. This requirement, which was temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is the focus of my study. Building on a 2019 national study by Martin and Alexander, my research examines how CPAs in New Jersey impose practice restrictions and financial burdens on APNs who are required to obtain and finance them. Additionally, the study investigates the level of support and perceived value APNs derive from the CPAs.

If you are an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) licensed in New Jersey, I invite you to participate in this survey. Participation is voluntary, and all data collected will be completely anonymous. Your insight will offer valuable perspectives on the challenges experienced by APNs in New Jersey and will help guide future research in this area. The survey should take no more than fifteen minutes, and your contribution would be greatly appreciated.
